Totally forgot I had a blog on my website. Okay, not really. I just didn't see a reason to blog when I've got a huge audience on Twitter and Instagram. Haha. Right.
I made ONE joke posting on Instagram about how I hate influencers and the views on my stories immediately dropped from a constant 60+ to 2-5. And they haven't recovered. Silicon Valley doesn't mess around when it comes to taking full control over our communications. And if you, like me, fall from grace for whatever reason, that's it. You can post and hashtag as much as you want, you're out. No one's going to see your stuff. Did I mention that I've been banned from Facebook for several months out of the blue? No, I didn't harass anyone, I didn't use a fake name, they simply shut down my account from one day to the next. Read about it here. I'm one of the unnamed accounts mentioned in the article. Ms Hill had contacted me while researching the article when she saw me mentioning losing my account on Twitter. So these things do happen on a regular basis. Social media is basically completely worthless, and not just because of all the hate and yelling going on on there. We're not in control. And that's bad. Really bad. I wish we all would go back to blogging, but I'm afraid that's just not going to happen anytime soon. I'll put in an effort. Because this Instagram thing was the proverbial straw for me. I don't wanna play along anymore.
Let's see if I can re-adapt to that old blogging lifestyle again. And I hope one or two of you are interested in following along. I know I need to add some features to this website to make it more usable, like add an RSS feed and such. Check back in again on my progress! And if you'd like to get in contact, subscribe to my newsletter or drop me a line at email@example.com.
